Book of Air fieldtone and Wim Van Egmond
Slow-art movie concert
Friday 18/11/2016 de Singel, Antwerp 20h00
A slow-art movie concert with Book of Air fieldtone and visual artist Wim van Egmond.
The show presents a hypnotic gathering of Wim van Egmond’s slow-growing micro worlds and the silent invisible grooves from Book of Air fieldtone.
With fieldtone, Book of Air presents a collection of compositions performed by a five-piece ensemble. Inspired by the invisible groove and variable silence of various nature locations. The focus on this „fieldtone” or Roomtone intensifies the perception of the sounds being played and the space in which you are located.
Visual artist Wim van Egmond maneuvers between art and science. Van Egmond is fascinated by the world of single-celled organisms and other tiny creatures, visible only with a microscope. His images are purely realistic in nature, but for most of us visually unknown territory.
A slow down world dominated by time and space, peace and acoustic sounds; between minimalism, electronic art and organic post-rock. A trip of imagery and sounds while laying down on your pillow.
