Pandit Nirmalya Dey (Delhi, India) is one of today’s leading masters of dhrupad, the oldest form of North Indian classical music. He learnt his art from the great musician and teacher Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar with whim he studied and performed from 1988 until Ustad passed away in 2013. He is a Top Grade Artiste with All India Radio and with Indian National Television. He has taught at University of Delhi and has been appointed Guru at Shiram Bharatiya Kala Kendra (Delhi). He has made numerous recordings and has performed and conducted workshops all over the world. His performances are remarkable for their depth, precision and grace. Pandit Nirmalya Dey will be accompanied by Nathanael van Zuilen on Pakhavaj.

 

 

There will be a suggested donation of 10€ at the door, with all proceeds going directly to the venue and the artists who have traveled to share their art with us in Antwerp for the first time.
